Zenith Chronomaster Open Grande Date Watch
June 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment
T his Zenith Chronomaster watch is a real beauty-and definitely worthy of the “Buy Steve a Watch Category.” Rumor has it that this watch can be yours for $11,900 dollars(for the stainless steel model)-don’t go cheap and not buy an elegant automatic watch winder.
This watch has a timeless elegance about it-the El Primero Caliber has been around for years and this watch represents a move to more modern tastes. The watch has 36,000 vibrations per hour and keeps perfect time.
The dial has subtly smoked cut outs that give a transparent effect. Look closer and you catch a glimpse of the pearly plate beneath with the three patented discs of the Grande Date. The opening of the dial allows you to see the new complication of the El Primero 4039 movement-clearly illustrating the magic of time!
Zenith has not yet sent out this watch for my rigorous review and testing but in case Zenith decides to send one out today-send the model with the 18 Carat Rose Gold model. This beauty will set you back $27,600 but will be elegantly displayed in a gorgeous watch winder case when I’m not testing it!

Wolf Designs Watch Winders
July 22, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Wolf Designs was founded in 1834 by Philip Wolf I, a silversmith by trade. He made leather coated boxes to display his silver products. Wolf thought that the fine quality leather cases were the perfect way to exhibit his precious silver wares. Today, Wolf is one of the premiere brands for leather watch winders and leather watch cases.
In Wolfs time it was easy to acquire good leather to make fine leather goods-the bigger task became stitching the leather together and finding those that had the skills. Wolf mastered these skills and soon was producing leather boxes with the quality that the world had never seen. He was also selling more leather boxes than silver items. The rest is history as the saying goes. To this date, Wolf Designs is still family owned and being run by the third generation of the Wolf family.
Wolf designs refers to their watch winders as watch rotators. What ever your preference, watch winders make the job of keeping your automatic watches fully wound an easy job. Wolf designs are known for their sleek designs and impeccable attention to detail. Their watch winders are very functional and affordable. Wolf watch winders include clockwise, anti-clockwise and bi-directional settings. Their watch winders are programmable and have a solid three year warranty.

Buben & Zorweg Time Movers
July 19, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Think about how long the top brands of fine mechanical watches have been around. Couple this with the fact that most ardent watch collectors own three or more mechanical watches. Harald Buben and Christian Zorweg noticed a big void in the market for the finest watch winders-and in 1995 the House of Buben & Zorweg was established and the first buben & Zorweg Time Mover was introduced to the world two years later.
Ive mentioned the beauty of the Buben & Zorweg watch winders before but it is their passion for detail and craftsmanship that propelled them to the elite status they have today in the watch winder community.
Zorweg has been quoted saying: a watch winder is one of lifes necessary luxuries. Hey, who can argue with that! He also states that If an ardent collect has a number of mechanical watches, a watch winders becomes a necessity to ensure the watches are well-maintained.
Buben & Zorweg has a unique distinction-they make the worlds smallest watch winder, the Time Mover Mobile, and the largest watch winder, The Time Mover Collector 64. This beauty will wind 64 watches at once!

Buben & Zorweg watch winders caught my eye because of their precise mechanical movements and the exotic woods they use in their watch winders. One of my favoirte Buben-Zorweg watch winders is the dual watch winder made with black and walnut burl wood-this is absolutely stunning!
This watch winder features the Time Mover intelligent watch winder functions. The adjustable turns per day are: 650-800-900. The Buben & Zorweg watch winder also features Sleep Phase-whereby your watch receives a daily 10 hour break which allows the main spring to unwind. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear of the automatic winding system.
Elma, a renowned German company, is considered the inventor of the watch winder. Buben & Zorweg uses the Elma technology in every Time Mover watch winder. For more than 40 years watch makers world wide have used their reliable devices. The match of Buben & Zorweg and Elma has developed top-notch watch winders and fascinated watch aficionados around the world.
Buben & Zorweg watch winders gives you the precision of German craftsmanship and some of the finest exotic woods in the world.
